Rev. Dr. Larry D. Walston, Sr. was licensed by Sycamore Chapel Baptist Church, Greenville, NC in 1979 under the leadership of Rev. Hue Walston. He was ordained by Old Eastern Baptist Association, General Baptist State Convention of NC, Inc. in 1986. Rev. Walston was Assistant Pastor at Sycamore Chapel Baptist Church assisting with the bus ministry and youth outreach program. His ministry has taken him to England for three years where he was Pastor of the Church of The Living God and also served as the leader of the Department of Air Force Gospel Service at RAF Fairford, England. He received the certificate of Meritorious Service from the Chief of Chaplains and the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service there.

Rev. Walston returned to the United States in 1990 and continued his pastoral ministry, at Progressive Baptist Church in Greenville, NC as Youth Pastor, where he helped organize a youth outreach program. In 1991, Rev. Walston traveled to Salem Baptist Church in Omaha, Nebraska and organized a youth outreach program, which increased the youth midweek prayer service and increased the youth membership of the church by 50 percent.

1992, Rev. Walston became Pastor of New Harrellsville Chapel Baptist Church, where he instituted youth ministry and reinstituted midweek Prayer/Bible Study. In 1995, he became Pastor of Saint Elmo Baptist Church in Windsor, NC and instituted the city Relay of Life program and he received the Pastor's Award from the state for his work. In October 2002, he became Pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, NC and he has increased the membership by 30 percent and Bible Study by 50 percent. Rev. Walston is one of the most sought after young pastors in the country.

is a member of the Benefit Commission of the General Baptist State Convention. He is affiliated with the Lot Carey Missionary Baptist Convention Headquarters in Washington, DC. Rev. Walston is also affiliated with the Progressive National Baptist Convention of America. The convention was organized in November 1961, in Cincinnati, OH. Rev.
